2009 Goals:

·         Create a continuum of programs that engage Mt. Vernon youth in activities within our church community.  Activities will enhance social, academic, religious and emotional skills for youth.

·         Develop a public speaking/ oratorical program that will improve youth presentation and speaking skills.

·         Create opportunities for team building, planning and service to others for Mt. Vernon Youth.

 

Scheduled Meeting Dates:

 

2^nd  Sunday immediately after Teen Choir Practice in the following months:  February,  March, June, September, November.    

2nd Sundays Youth Missionary Union   3:00 pm  ( Location determined by union)

 

Oratorical Contest: (Name to be determined)   May 3, 2009   ( Mt Vernon)

 

Projects:

Oratorical Contest  (Training and preparation Feb. –April.  Contests May 3)

3^rd Sunday Service Initiative – (older youth present scripture, announcement & pray)

Six Missions  (Collection of cell phones, socks, school supplies, and Urban Ministries effort)

Sleepover/Lock in  (Team building, preparation for service, smoking cessation etc)
